Since the law of July 24, 2020: energy renovation
Telephone canvassing has been prohibited in energy renovation since the law of July 24, 2020.
From July 1, 2025: all channels
Since July 1, 2025 (law of June 30, 2025), canvassing is prohibited on all channels in energy renovation, and no longer just by telephone.
Since August 11, 2026: prior consent
Since August 11, 2026, telephone solicitation requires the prior consent of the consumer, across all sectors.
What this changes for lead generation
A request submitted via a form is a request from the individual
When an individual fills out a form to request a quote, a callback, or information, they are the one contacting the company. This is the principle behind my campaigns: a landing page, a qualification form, and then a request that goes directly to the advertiser. I don't recommend cold calling.
Personal data to be handled with care
The information entered in a form remains personal data, subject to the GDPR. It is therefore important that the form clearly states the purpose of the request and how the person will be contacted.
